Embracing Royalty

Galatians 3:25-29 & Galatians 4:4-7

But now you have arrived at your destination: by faith in Christ you are in direct relationship with God. Your baptism in Christ was not just washing you up for a fresh start. It also involved dressing you in an adult faith wardrobe - Christ's life, the fulfillment of God's original promise. In Christ's family there can be no division into Jew and non-Jew, slave and free, male and female. Among us you are all equal. That is, we are all in a common relationship with Jesus Christ. Also, since you are Christ's family, then you are Abraham's famous "descendant," heirs according to the covenant promises... You can tell for sure that you are now fully adopted as his (God) own children because God sent the Spirit of his Son into our lives crying out, "Papa! Father!" Doesn't that privilege of intimate conversation with God make it plain that you are not a slave, but a child? And if you are a child, you're also an heir, with complete access to the inheritance.

These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: "Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel. As you go, preach this message: 'The kingdom of heaven is near. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. Do not take along any gold or silver or copper in your belts; take no bag for the journey, or extra tunic, or sandals or a staff; for the worker is worth his keep.


I. WEALTH

Being a royalty, is not about having wealth but having sufficiency.

In Matthew, Jesus says, "Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!"


II. PRIVILEGE

"And if your are a child, you're also a heir, with complete access to the inheritance." Galatians 4:7

Being a royalty is not about having privileges, but sharing those privileges.

As you go, preach this message: 'The kingdom of heaven is near. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.


III. STATUS

Being a royalty is not about having status, but giving respect.

"Among us you are all equal. That is, we are all in a common relationship with Jesus Christ."


IV. POWER & AUTHORITY

He called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out evil spirits and to heal every disease and sickness...

Being a royalty is not about having power and authority, but helping others with your power and authority.

sang pelukis

Suatu hari ada seorang pelukis terkenal sedang menyelesaikan lukisannya. Lukisan ini adalah lukisan yang sangat bagus dan akan diperlihatkan pada suatu pameran besar.

Sang pelukis sangat senang ketika menyelesaikan lukisannya. Sambil memandangi lukisannya yang berukuran 2x8m itu, tanpa disadari si pelukis telah berjalan mundur.

Dan ketika berjalan mundur pelukis tersebut tidak melihat ke belakang. Dia terus berjalan mundur hingga di belakangnya adalah ujung dari gedung tersebut yang tinggi sekali dan tinggal satu langkah lagi dia akan mengakhiri hidupnya.

Salah seorang melihat pelukis tersebut dan hendak berteriak untuk memperingatkan pelukis tersebut. Tetapi tidak jadi, karena dia berpikir mungkin ketika mendengar teriakannya, pelukis itu akan kaget dan malah jatuh ke belakang.

Kemudian orang tersebut mengambil kuas dan cat yang ada di depan lukisan tersebut, lalu mencoret-coret lukisan si pelukis tersebut sampai rusak. Pelukis tersebut sangatlah marah dan maju hendak memukul orang tersebut. Tetapi beberapa orang yang ada di situ menghadang dan memperlihatkan posisi pelukis tadi yang nyaris jatuh.

Kadang-kadang kita telah melukiskan masa depan kita dengan sangat bagus dan memimpikan suatu hari yang indah bersama dengan pasangan yang kita idamkan. Tetapi lukisan itu kelihatannya dirusak oleh Tuhan, karena Tuhan melihat bahaya yang ada pada kita kalau kita melangkah.

Kadang-kadang kita marah dan jengkel terhadap Tuhan atau juga terhadap pemimpin kita. Tapi perlu kita ketahui Tuhan selalu menyediakan yang terbaik untuk kita.

mutual funds and cat fights

on one fine, busy working day... ibu vivi asked me to invest in mutual funds. says the company's going to invest in it and that i should invest too. then followed by sun's introduction to me about mutual funds as well. i think it's time to reformulate investments skills.

schrodres... fortis... which one should i invest in?

had a fight with my bf yesterday. think it's the longest we ever fought. about my insensitivity and our communication problems. glad we patched it up though. i think both of us need to work harder to improve situation. i always like improvements anyway.

back to the mutual funds investments.... i think i better do more research. ughhhhhhhhh...

headache

just been back to work and it's already giving me headache. :(

sometimes, i really wish i have lower expectations and lesser responsibilities in life. like what spiderman said, with great power comes great responsibilities.

i wish i had more feminine responsibilities.

on personal life, it seems quite stressful over here in my side.

i'm taking three days leave to relax. yayyyy... yayyy.... hip hip hooray... :)

sekumpulan alumni, sangat sukses dalam karir mereka, berkumpul bersama untuk mengunjungi profesor universitas mereka. pembicaraan lambat laun berubah menjadi keluhan tentang stres dalam pekerjaan dan kehidupan.

menawarkan tamu-tamunya kopi, sang profesor pergi ke dapur dan kembali bersama satu pot besar kopi dan bermacam-macam cangkir: porselen, plastik, kaca, beberapa kelihatan biasa dan beberapa mahal dan menawan, berkata kepada mereka untuk mengambil sendiri kopi panas itu.

ketika semua siswa memiliki secangkir kopi di tangan, sang profesor berkata:

"kalau kalian perhatikan, semua cangkir yang kelihatan bagus dan mahal sudah terambil, meninggalkan yang biasa dan murah. ketika normal bagi kalian untuk hanya mau menginginkan yang terbaik bagi diri kalian sendiri, itu adalah sumber dari masalah dan stres. yang kalian inginkan hanyalah kopi, bukan cangkirnya, tapi kalian dengan sadarnya mengambil cangkir-cangkir yang terbaik dan saling melihat cangkir orang lain."

"sekarang, jika hidup adalah kopi, maka pekerjaan, uang, dan posisi dalam masyarakat adalah cangkirnya. mereka hanyalah alat untuk menahan dan menyimpan hidup, tapi kualitas hidup tidaklah berubah. kadangkala, dengan hanya berkonsentrasi pada cangkirnya, kita gagal untuk menikmati kopi yang ada didalamnya."

jangan biarkan cangkir itu mengendalikan kalian... sebaliknya, nikmatilah kopinya.

i'm back...

equipped with my new macbook and free wireless network connection from my neighbour (only know his/her modem as 'netgear'), i am finally back to blogging.

yayyyyyyyyyy...

my bf says the owner to my unknown free wireless network a.k.a NETGEAR is probably someone who's not too familiar with tech, since he/she didn't change the name of his/her wireless modem. i pray that my unknown source has unlimited internet access and that he/she will let me use his/her access to internet.

anyway, work has been EXTREMELY BUSY. personal life's been busy too. it's only 12.48 AM on this saturday morning and i already have my weekend planned.

in a few hours, i have to wake up at 6.30 AM, drive to work at 7.30 AM and reach my mum's office at 8 AM. i'm meeting my mum's client at 8.30 AM together with my mum. once that finishes, i'll probably drop by to the office. then i have to be at Neeps before 10.30 AM. kevin's introducing our company to the photographers, have to be there to support him. although the whole seminar finishes at 1-ish PM, i have to leave before noon. have lunch with my bf then off to the 9th festival komputer indonesia. i'm sure i'll have an eye opener and hopefully get some good deals off a new laptop bag. then i'll have to leave around 4-ish PM to get back home to get a shower. have to be in cengkeh resto & lounge at juanda. linda's having her birthday there. ugggh... i still haven't got her any present. geez.... i have to go to plaza indonesia tomorrow after neeps.

sunday's another busy day with church at 10 or 11.45 AM, then followed by Pak Kribo's daughter marriage together with the celebration of Pak Adi's son being circumcised. location's at tangerang area. have to reconfirm to sun if he wants to drive me there or not, since he seems kind of tired the last few days. then we have a family dinner at limi's apartment in pantai mutiara at 6 PM.

seems like activities for the weekend is more packed than the weekday's work.

can't wait till my leave comes. 5th and 6th july.... hmnnn...
