sheraton vs malya

room: has not been renovated for years. had small twin bed joined together. bedsheet is not super clean and shiny. pillows are saggy. dim lighting (i hate it). old 21" tv. toilet was small and again badly lighted. toilet bowl in my room had some intense smell. my room had a balcony and the view is just awesome.**½
surroundings: i love malya's surrounding. edgeless swimming pool with a great mountain view. since it only had 50 rooms, which means far more privacy for people. nice spa & message. quiet and windy. it's like being able to enjoy the nature without getting mosquito bites or sleeping in the wild.***½
lobby: was renovated a few years ago but the design has gone a little out of date. however, it still has a distinct style. windy place where you can enjoy privacy and view. awesome!****
distance from lobby to room: still acceptable, since they had lifts.
service: great personal service from some staffs. ***½

room: newly renovated. huge twin bed (too bad i had king sized one). brightly lit. new carpet. warm interior. clean. 29" flat tv. huge and hygienic toilet. draining system inside the bath slow. 3 complimentay bananas. however, i found a dried dead lizard in their fruit tray. all i could see was some local housing and mosque which is less than 100m away. ***½
surroundings: nothing much here. they had their own garden, but it wasn't natural. since they had 150 rooms, it would mean far less privacy. lots of kids. swimming pool is too 'public', with kids running around. **½
lobby: not yet renovated. i do not like the design. looks dirty and dusty. bad lighting. **
distance from lobby to room: too tiring for a spoilt princess. **
service: quick but not too personal. **½
