kembang goela...

is the place where one can taste traditional indonesian home-cooking. it is beautifully furnished in a colonial style, with some old indonesian and dutch tunes softly playing in the background. its antique collection is also a feast for the eyes; an old clock, tiffin carriers and a gramophone from a bygone era.

btw, this resto was introduced by my neighbour (who has a handsome baby boy named john). oh well, they kept telling my mum to have dinner there. so my mum bugged me. so i had to take her there for dinner about a two weeks ago. my neighbours surely have good taste.

ambiance: impressive, especially when the resto is just 3 minutes drive from my place. i prefer the lounge area when compared to dining as it is more warm. dining area has its ceilings a little too high. however, it would still give it a thumbs up. ****
service: waiter has good knowledge of the menu. waiter/waitresses wore nice uniform which reminds us of the dutch mix indonesian style. most of them are quiet polite, however they are still inexperienced in serving. ***
½
presentation: impressive cutlery and food presentation. something unordinary. ****
taste: so-so. ***
