charlie and the chocolate factory

i used to read a few roald dahl books when i was little. and of course, charlie and the chocolate factory is one of my favourite. every chocolate lover would.

just watched the movie. absolute creativity. everything from set-up, animation, customes, make-up, the actors. detailed. thumbs up for johnny depp's acting.

this film is filled with so much ideas, that you would want to create something to let out all the creativity after you watch it. a trigger for the imagination indeed. i would describe the experience as a roller coster ride.

womenhood cycle...

kind of exhaused tonight, so i started my sleep at around 8 pm. then was awaken by the stuffiness in my room around 12 midnite.

maybe i was awaken due to my routine monthly womanhood cycle. will there be a rise in body heat during these times? anyway, all male homosepians should be lucky that they do not have to go through the monthly cycle. all those excess expenses, worrying about stains, mood changes, oily hair & skin, cramps... but it's still great being a girl. plus, it's a great excuse for everything.

anyhow, got hungry after that. craved so much for fried rice... but too lazy to drive and no one's available & willing to accompany me have fried rice at this hour. ended up having an apple, fortnum & mason camomile tea and some biscuits. not too bad either. warms the tummy too.

the uncertainty

been trying to look for a cd by snow rose - excel. great old songs. beautiful vocals. too bad, i still haven't found what i'm looking for.

work has been busy, that the only thing i want to do after work is to enjoy myself. i do not enjoy exhibitions. i hate the pressure. i wish i had a more simple life. btw, i figured out that being demanding is one of the keys of being a successful leader.

got a great news, three of my cousins will be getting married next year. so happy for them.

sometimes, i am not sure which directions i am drifting to. nearer or further to god? there is this 40 days community program in church... i'm in for it. will try out this life group in grogol area soon.

mum's been sick. not good. hope the business meetings goes well tomorrow. also wish that i won't be lazy for gym tomorrow.

and of course. i certainly hope that i will have more patience. especially when i am working. dear father in heaven, please let me speak the words that you want me to speak, do the things that you want me to do and let me hear & see the things that you want me to hear & see. mould me to be the way that you want me to be.

also i think i was rather impatient to kevin this afternoon. kevin kept bugging me with something while i was busy at work. poor kevin, he ended up getting some sarcastism from me. anyway, i think i was rather harsh on kevin. i'm sorry, kevin. pray for me so that i'll be more patience okay?

got a gastric attack cos i tried to get everything done in time. but i guess all the jokes from my cousins and friends fixed that. i think it should be fine now.

gotta go read my daily dose of commitment now.

angel food cake
sweet, loving, cuddly. you love all warm and fuzzy items. a little nutty at times. sometimes you need an ice cream cone at the end of the day. others perceive you as being childlike and immature at times.

brownies
you are adventurous, love new ideas, are a champion of under dogs and a slayer of dragons. when tempers flare up, you whip out your saber. you are always the oddball with a unique sense of humour and direction. you tend to be very loyal.

lemon meringue
smooth, sexy & articulate with your hands, you are an excellent after-dinner speaker and a good teacher. but don't try to walk and chew gum at the same time. a bit of a diva at times, but you have many friends.

vanilla cake with chocolate icing
fun-loving, sassy, humorous. not very grounded in life; very indecisive and lack motivation. everyone
enjoys being around you, but you are a practical joker. others should be cautious in making you mad. however, you are a friend for life.

strawberry short cake
romantic, warm, loving. you care about other people and can be counted on in a pinch. you tend to melt. you can be overly emotional at times.

chocolate on chocolate
sexy; always ready to give and receive. very creative, adventurous, ambitious, and passionate. you can appear to have a cold exterior or but are warm on the inside. not afraid to take chances. will not settle for anything average in life. love to laugh.

ice cream
you like sports, whether it be baseball, football, basketball, or soccer. if you could, you would like to participate, but you enjoy watching sports. you don't like to give up the remote control. you tend to be self-centred and high maintenance.

carrot cake
you are a very fun loving person, who likes to laugh. you are fun to be with. people like to hang
out with you. you are a very warm hearted person and a little quirky at times. you have many loyal friends.

kembang goela...

is the place where one can taste traditional indonesian home-cooking. it is beautifully furnished in a colonial style, with some old indonesian and dutch tunes softly playing in the background. its antique collection is also a feast for the eyes; an old clock, tiffin carriers and a gramophone from a bygone era.

btw, this resto was introduced by my neighbour (who has a handsome baby boy named john). oh well, they kept telling my mum to have dinner there. so my mum bugged me. so i had to take her there for dinner about a two weeks ago. my neighbours surely have good taste.

ambiance: impressive, especially when the resto is just 3 minutes drive from my place. i prefer the lounge area when compared to dining as it is more warm. dining area has its ceilings a little too high. however, it would still give it a thumbs up. ****
service: waiter has good knowledge of the menu. waiter/waitresses wore nice uniform which reminds us of the dutch mix indonesian style. most of them are quiet polite, however they are still inexperienced in serving. ***
½
presentation: impressive cutlery and food presentation. something unordinary. ****
taste: so-so. ***
price: ranging from 130.000 - 250.000 pp, depending on what you order.

sheraton vs malya

malya
room: has not been renovated for years. had small twin bed joined together. bedsheet is not super clean and shiny. pillows are saggy. dim lighting (i hate it). old 21" tv. toilet was small and again badly lighted. toilet bowl in my room had some intense smell. my room had a balcony and the view is just awesome.**½

surroundings: i love malya's surrounding. edgeless swimming pool with a great mountain view. since it only had 50 rooms, which means far more privacy for people. nice spa & message. quiet and windy. it's like being able to enjoy the nature without getting mosquito bites or sleeping in the wild.***½

lobby: was renovated a few years ago but the design has gone a little out of date. however, it still has a distinct style. windy place where you can enjoy privacy and view. awesome!****
distance from lobby to room: still acceptable, since they had lifts.

service: great personal service from some staffs. ***½

sheraton bandung hotel & towers
room: newly renovated. huge twin bed (too bad i had king sized one). brightly lit. new carpet. warm interior. clean. 29" flat tv. huge and hygienic toilet. draining system inside the bath slow. 3 complimentay bananas. however, i found a dried dead lizard in their fruit tray. all i could see was some local housing and mosque which is less than 100m away. ***½

surroundings
: nothing much here. they had their own garden, but it wasn't natural. since they had 150 rooms, it would mean far less privacy. lots of kids. swimming pool is too 'public', with kids running around. **½

lobby: not yet renovated. i do not like the design. looks dirty and dusty. bad lighting. **
distance from lobby to room: too tiring for a spoilt princess. **

service: quick but not too personal. **½

opsstt...

my snappy fingers accidentally deleted the previous entry. me and my flying fingers... they help me out a lot at times, but cause me trouble some other times.

anyway, a brief summary of the deleted entry:

• i was in bandung for holiday from 30 july - 2 august
• spend the first night in sheraton cos malya was fully booked
• i took a long nap in the late afternoon/evening (2-3 hours i suppose)
• could not sleep at night while i was in malya
• accessed malya's wifi through my mobile and posted an entry
